Living Wisdom E-Newsletter March 09
Hi
all,
I could not resist sending you through the letters which were sent to
the ABC last night after my interview with John Nutting regarding the measles
'outbreak' in Beerwah. You have all inspired me and hopefully, after reading
these letters, others will also be inspired to write in - borrowing from your
words or finding words of their own.

In addition, I have been thinking
(all night actually) about the ABC charter and how it's been manipulated by
misinformation such as the Pulse section of ABC Health and Wellbeing (a misnomer
if there ever was one!) as evidenced by the page by Peter Lavelle -
http://www.abc.net.au/health/thepulse/stories/2008/07/17/2306469.htm. If someone
out there has a few hours they can spare over the next couple of weeks to help
me in researching and filing a complaint against the ABC for their biased
reporting and the way in which their web site is used to push the pharmaceutical
agenda, I would be really grateful. Call me on 02 6687 1699 or email me directly

Dear Toby,
thank you for your show.
Re the immunisation discussion ------ many
years ago my daughter was immunised with the MMR vaccination --- resulting in a
case of measles, then encephalitis/meningitis ---- leaving her with brain
damage.
Twenty five years later (and lots of therapy) she married and had
a baby , the doctors assured her (against my advice) that it could never happen
again and this baby "should" be vaccinated ( yes they received financial
incentive for it!) ----------- so sadly the same thing happened
again.
Since then she has had two more children --- not immunised and
perfectly bright, healthy and happy.
Hope this is of some interest to you
Toby.
Thank you sincerely,
Dear Mr Nutting,
I just
wanted to let you know that I have two beautifully healthy & happy
unvaccinated children and that the decision not to vaccinate them was THE MOST
informed decision of my life. I can honestly say that I spent more time
researching this particular topic than anything else I have ever done. In my
experience, if you ask the parents of vaccinated children "why are your children
vaccinated?" you are often met with a variety of answers along the lines of "my
doctor told me to", "everyone does it, I didn't have a choice" and "the
government pays me to do it". Conscientious objection is by its very nature
diametrically opposed to this line of (non)thinking. When I have had similar
discussions with parents of unvaccinated children it is obvious that their
decision is borne out of research, reading and genuine investigation. Does
anyone even question why the most unvaccinated demographic is the children of
wealthy, well educated parents. It is ridiculous to imply that this group is not
well informed in their decision making on this matter. I welcome further
discussion on this matter but would urge a greater degree of balance with
regards to "expert opinion" in the future. The lack of it to date is greatly
disappointing from the national broadcaster.
Yours Sincerely
Mr.
Nutting~
My name is _____, and I just wanted to let you know that I felt
the story on vaccinations with Peter Lavelle was incredibly biased, and that I
thought journalism was supposed to look at both sides of the story.
I
happen to be a very well educated mother, and I have the absolute best interest
in mind for my children. After doing immense amounts of research, after going
to seminars and talking with many doctors and reading multiple books, my husband
and I have decided not to vaccinate our children - and I can tell you without a
doubt, that my children are far healthier than any vaccinated child we
know.
I find that articles and shows on tv that portray parents who
don't vaccinate as parasites are incredibly misinformed, and many times, they
try to get people to vaccinate their children using fear instead of
knowledge.
Knowledge is power, Mr. Nutting, and I feel that the other
side of this story should be aired. Why not do a story on why some parents feel
that vaccines are too dangerous for their children? Why not do a story that
states all of the ingredients in vaccines, and the studies on those ingredients
claiming that they are safe (they are not by the way). Why not do the story
based on truth, and references to the truth.
I understand that people
want to believe that vaccinations are safe. I understand that it is hard to
challenge the status quo and to do something different, but I once heard a
quote...and it's "Tell a lie long enough and loud enough and people start to
believe it." Why is it that the parents that don't vaccinate seem to be the
ones that need to PROOVE that vaccines aren't safe? Shouldn't the doctors and
the vaccine manufacturers PROOVE that they are safe to US? And in my opinion,
and in millions of other people's opinions, they have NEVER proved that they are
safe, they only keep repeating that they are with no scientific references to
back that statement up.
I am not one for scare tactics. I do not make
my decisions concerning my children and my family's health based on fear. I
base it off of knowledge, off of concrete documented facts, and the truth is,
vaccines are dangerous.
Please be open minded enough to do a story on
the truth instead of fear, as I feel that much of what Peter Lavelle was stating
was downright untruthful, and full of fear instead of factual
knowledge.
Thank you,

Dear Mr Nutt,
I
am very concerned about the scaremongering that your "health expert" Peter
Lavelle seems to be engaging in over the outbreak of measles in
Beerwah.
My husband, daughter and I are immigrants from England
(non-measles-carrying), now proudly Australian citizens, and we are also
non-vaccinating parents. Our daughter is wholly unvaccinated, and having had
much trouble with child-bearing, my husband and I did not come to this decision
lightly. We spent many hours reading and researching the topic of vaccination,
and our choice - which is what it was, still is and hopefully will remain - was
made on the basis of our distrust of the issues of both safety and efficacy,
although the whole concept of making a child healthy by injecting toxins into
their body was also very questionable to us, and remains so.
We do not
believe that vaccines have the efficacy that is claimed - indeed, my husband and
I both suffered pertussis despite being vaccinated against it - and we certainly
do not believe they are safe - for us, our daughter, or anyone else. We have
used referenced information from the Internet (of which there is a great deal)
as well as other sources, and having looked in depth at what actually goes into
vaccines, we are of the opinion that safety can never be guaranteed. Looking
around at the vast numbers of highly allergic children in schools, children with
auto-immune disorders and children with cancer - rarely heard of when we were
children - there is no way on earth you are ever going to convince us to inject
our child with the cocktail of chemicals that vaccines contain, not to mention
the foreign proteins and animal DNA.
My husband and I come from a
generation that had measles (and mumps and rubella) as a right of passage,
without any dramas or hysteria. All of our friends and relations did too.
While I personally know of deaths that have occurred after administration of the
MMR vaccine, I never knew anyone of my generation die from measles. In a
well-nourished child, who is cared for properly, it is usually a benign
illness.
I wonder how many of these poor children in Beerwah are tonight
wondering whether they are going to survive measles? Given the way the media
has reacted to them, they must feel rather scared. It really is totally
disproportionate and predictions of dire outcomes will do nothing to reassure
worried parents.
What is needed now for these people is some calm;
overall what is needed is more open discussion on the whole subject of
vaccination, so that parents can make informed choices in the best interests of
their children: and a more balanced approach from the media rather than the
hysteria and scaremongering that seems to be the order of the day in Beerwah.
We need more support for organisations such as the AVN who work tirelessly to
help people find the information they need to make truly knowledgeable choices
on the issue. And above all, the medical profession and the media should stop
victimising those parents who, like us, have turned our backs on the practice of
vaccination in the sure and certain belief that to do otherwise would damage our
children beyond repair. This is still a free country - let's make sure it stays
that way!
Sincerely,
I'm not that dim-witted
Dear
Toby,
Thank you for taking the time to do a story about the recent spate
of measles infections.
I am concerned, however, that Mr Lavelle believes
that parents such as myself are not having their children immunised because they
do not have the ability to understand that a little bit of something in a
vaccine will improve our children's health.
On the contrary, most
parents I know have chosen not to vaccinate their children only after sifting
through both sides of the conflicting information that surrounds vaccines - a
process that requires a reasonable degree of intelligence and independent
thought.
In future programs of this nature, would your ple-e-e-z-e
interview people who have at least read as much as us?
There is so much
scholarly and credible information available on the life-long benefits that
follow natural infection with measles, as well as information on the short and
long-term risks associated with the vaccine. To cover this information would
provide an invaluable service to your listeners. It would be lovely not to have
our intelligence insulted again by somebody as obviously ill-informed as Mr
Lavelle.
Kind regards,
Hi Toby
Just writing as I
have heard of your father's recent show featuring John Lavelle. I did not hear
the interview myself, but the sentiment expressed by John has been relayed to me
along with some of his manipulation of facts.
I feel that it is really
important that the 'pro vaccination' gang are open to hearing both sides, which
is seems sadly John is not. My husband and I are both health professionals who
have spent years working in the mainstream medical model both in hospitals (both
private and public) and private practice settings and we choose not to
vaccinate. We are not the 'airy fairy' type, who believe everything to be a
conspiracy theory. In fact we have found that most who choose to vaccinate
are;
* Highly educated
* Spend hundreds of hours researching
*
Take additional general health and wellbeing precautions to promote optimal
health in their children.
One point I feel is important is that, while I
may be ridiculed for choosing not to vaccinate my child, I have spent hundreds
of hours researching the literature before coming to this decision. I felt the
potential for harm for the majority of vaccines heavily outweigh the benefits.
Most families who vaccinate their children, give it no thought at all, they just
make the appointment because they have been told to do so. They have no idea of
what is in these vaccines and believe that they are 100% safe and 100%
effective. In fact, neither assumption is true.
Some additional points
to consider:
* No randomised controlled trials have EVER been performed
to assess the safety and effectiveness of Vaccines on children. This is a very
important point. As you will often hear doctors say; 'I don't
recommend........because there is no evidence to show that it is safe and
effective". Yet for some reason vaccines are immune to this logic.
*
vaccinated children get the viruses they are vaccinated against
*
Pharmaceutical companies have hefty financial interests in mass vaccination
*
Governments and Doctors are lobbied (and wined and dined) by pharmaceutical
industries
* Many Doctors are 'educated' by Pharmaceutical reps
*
Childhood chronic disease has risen correspondingly with the ever-increasing
number of vaccinations on the schedule, yet due to a potentially large number of
causes, vaccination is unlikely to ever be held responsible in a legal manner,
despite strong evidence of links.
I think any system that seeks to offer
one prescription for all children is unlikely to be well thought out, safe or
effective.
Some will always choose to vaccinate, some will choose to do
so selectively and some will choose to not vaccinate at all. In different
circumstances all may be appropriate.
Finally on a personal note, some
anecdotal (and of course unscientific) information for you. I have a fully
unvaccinated 18 month old daughter. When compared to her peers she is incredibly
well. She has not required a Doctors attention for any illness since birth.
According to all textbooks by this stage she would have had 10 colds, several
inner ear infections and more uncomfortable illness. Instead she is vital, and
unlike her friends who seem to have a cold or tummy bug every fortnight, is in
optimal health.
Perhaps, just perhaps it is because her immune system
has been allowed to develop normally, rather than having been bombarded with an
enormous number of vaccines.
I am sorry this has been a rather lengthy
letter, but this is an incredibly important subject for all families and by
allowing both sides to be heard in equal measure, you are facilitating not only
freedom of speech, but freedom of thought, which is perhaps even more
important.
Warm Regards
Hi Toby,
Where do I begin? This
is such an emotion-fuelled topic. It is dangerous to form opinions based on
emotions or from an entirely medical viewpoint which is generally the way. Most
people will research the purchase of a car or computer more than they will
vaccinations Medical practices have come and gone over the years after
discovering treatments that were first thought to be beneficial to health are
actually quite detrimental to health. That fact is undisputed. In my experience
when dealing with the medical system and vaccinations, first ask the medical
provider if he or she gets regular vaccinations and if they vaccinate their own
children. You will be surprised with the answers you receive.
Secondly
by vaccinating you are saying that you are smarter than the human body, that
there is some type of design flaw in the humans. This is simply not the case. It
has been shown in many studies for example that the measles are actually highly
beneficial in kids as a marked growth spurt generally takes place soon after the
virus has gone. The virus itself also builds immunity in the body naturally
protecting us later in life. I can go on and on with the benefits. There is an
equal number of negatives but none life threatening in this day and
age.
There is so much fear and profit around Vaccinations that people
clearly can not form an informed decision especially when you take into
consideration the example of this latest so called measles outbreak! Media over
kill as always.
I wish you could come into a chiropractor's office and
observe the many cases we see of adverse reactions to vaccinations, and then you
would think differently.
I hope we get to see a fair and unbiased debate
or discussion on the topic from the ABC to really get the facts out there and
not just the regular propaganda.
Remember Vaccinations are great until your
child has an adverse reaction. Think about this last sentence carefully.
Prevention is better than the cure and vaccinations prevent very little. If most
of the population is vaccinated why do they care if a growing minority are not
vaccinated because their protected right???
Please give this topic the
unbiased exposure that is required to make people think for themselves and take
responsibility for their own and their children's health and well
being.
Regards,
Hello Toby,
I am writing to ask for more
information to be provided fairly to viewers about the other side of
vaccination.
I am passionately anti-vaccination. I have seen with my
own eyes the silent damage vaccination does to families, families that had
beautiful, normally developing children up until the time of vaccination. In
one particular case the MMR, within a few hours "Daniel" was becoming unwell,
feverish, grisly (some would say this is normal after vaccination) until it got
worse and he went into convulsions. He was rushed to hospital with a "brain
fever" or encephalitis (brain inflammation) which can be caused by
measles.....anyway Daniel did leave hospital but his parents lost him - he is in
a world of his own, no longer connecting with his parents or brother or wider
family, fascinated with TV to the point that he can sit an entire day just
watching the same DVD over and over, running around in circles and not able to
talk. He does not eat and is regularly sick. Daniel is my nephew. This is a
story I have heard so many times. Just google Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carey for
one more story.
Now my own story was that against my instinct I did have
my son vaccinated for the first few shots when he was a baby, something that I
will regret to my dying day, and after one vaccination he was so unwell, his leg
went bright red, was so swollen, he was screaming and sick - I rushed him back
to the Dr who had the cheek to tell me it was nothing to do with the vaccination
and to take him home with panadol. He did not even care, he'd already recorded
the shots for his bonus, I don't know who he was kidding but any person could
tell it was a reaction to vaccination.....I did not even know at that time there
was an adverse reaction reporting process....My son was never vaccinated after
that and did have a few early health challenges eg constant colds, slight asthma
but with the care of a fantastic Naturopath he is extremely healthy now with a
great immune system and zero signs of asthma.
My daughter who is nearly
3 (and is only 6 weeks younger than Daniel) has never had a needle pierce her
skin. The only time she has seen a Dr was the day she was born. She is never
sick, she is extremely healthy and extremely intelligent beyond her years, she
has been raised organically and with no pharmaceutical medication, she does get
colds, never had an ear infection, never had an antibiotic. She gets colds as
she is supposed to but she burns them off in a day. She is at child care and
has chicken pox, slap face and all other sorts of childhood diseases exposed to
her but she never gets anything - her constitution is as it should be, naturally
strong and healthy.
People need to know both sides of this medical
procedure, they need to be informed of the ingredients of vaccinations and they
need to be aware of the health risks they are subjecting their precious children
to.....parents are not told the other side, they discover it after they have
lost their children. Autism and autism spectrum disorders are on the rise - now
the stats are 1 in 150 children will be affected - this is not genetic this is
because they are being poisoned from vaccinations the day they are born, and
sadly research done by various agencies have found that babies are now born
toxic (I can provide data on this if required). So they are born with a toxic
load and then injected with more toxins. Sadly parents put more time into
researching which school their children will go to rather than what people with
vested interests are injecting into their babies.
Please review a book
called "Chemical Free Kids, Raising Children in a Toxic World" written by
Australian Dr Sarah Lantz - the research she had done is enough to show that our
children are being made sick. Children and babies should not be getting these
deadly diseases, we are being slowly programmed to believe this is the "norm"
and that its "genetics" not so. Another great book "The Hundred Year Lie" by
Randall Fitzgerald. Another Dr to read is Dr Paula Baily-Hamilton.
Dr
Isaac Golden has done the largest clinical study in Australia on vaccinations -
review his book Vaccination: A Review of Risks and Alternatives. He has the
stats and the data which clearly shows that disease was on the decline before
the introduction of vaccinations. Interview him please!
Well I thank
you for reading this email, I ask you to research this subject further - there
is a lot of money to be made in vaccination.
--
In
health,
Toby,
I want to comment briefly on Peter Levelle's
statements during your interview.
There is no evidence that measles
vaccine "effectively eliminated measles in Australia"
In fact, the incidence
of measles had fallen sharply prior to 1966.
Many studies which link the
rapid increase in Autism since the increase of childhood vaccinations and in
particular MMR have been "discredited" to save the positions of the medical and
government authorities if the truth comes out.
If the incidence of is not
linked to vaccinations in general, what do you think caused the incidence to
increase fifteen fold from 1966 to today, where 1 in 150 children suffer from
autism.
This is a global catastrophe!
Please see the attachment above
which is a report by Robert F. Kennedy jnr. based on information obtained via
the Freedom of Information Act.
Best Regards,
Hi, I am a mother
of 2 young girls 4yrs and 2 yrs old. I have made a conscious choice not to
Vaccinate them. I made this choice by thoroughly researching both sides of the
argument - a lot of reading and a lot of personal reflection on what I truly
believed was best for the kids.
I find it really frustrating when this issue
is constantly addressed with a biased view. I want this issue addressed fairly -
I want to see both sides get equal time to discuss the pros and cons.
I often
wonder how people can just write off the people who choose not to vaccinate as
hippies, unformed people or ignorant people etc There are many professional,
well educated people including scientists and medical doctors who are choosing
not to vaccinate. This alone must get people thinking 'there must be more to
this story'.
I am not asking people to not vaccinate but I would say you
should look into both sides independently with no bias and then make a competent
decision that you are happy with. How can this be done with the constant Fear
mongering that goes on through the media. Take the measles for example - if
listening to the TV and radio were all I had to go on I would think the whole
population on the Sunshine Coast was in danger of being wiped out by this fatal
disease! What happened to the normal childhood diseases like measles, mumps,
chicken pox that we all had as kids??
There are too many things to go into in
an email that contribute to poor health and therefore more severe reactions to
diseases, but I will say that I know by taking responsilbilty for my families
health,I will ensure that if they happen to contract measles or chicken pox etc
- they will need a few days of rest in bed and then will let their bodies do the
rest after all isn't that what our amazing, intricately designed bodies were
built to do.
So in short - with good nutrition and and organic food and no
pollutants in our immediate home environment and regular chiropractic care my
family are in the best health they can be and will be able to therefore deal
better with anything that may come along.
I know this is an emotionally
charged issue but all I am asking for is a fair unbiased presentation of the
factson both sides.
Thank you for your time
Dear Mr Nutting
I
am writing to you concerning your "Measles Outbreak Interview"
As an
educated woman, business professional and, above all, loving mother I thoroughly
investigate all of the health choices I make for my children, I do not have
trouble understanding anything about vaccinations and their benefits or side
effects. I have seen first-hand the devastating effects that vaccination can
have on small children and their families, I therefore have chosen to nurse my
children through their illnesses rather than vaccinate them and then try to
reverse any possible side effects from the vaccination itself. Please note I
state possible side effects as no parent knows what the outcome will be,
vaccination is currently a game of Russian Roulette and a game that I choose NOT
to participate in.
Please let me make this clear, I am not
anti-vaccination I am pro-safe vaccination. If I were to be presented with a way
to vaccinate my children that would give them immunity without side effects such
as damage to the immune system, swelling of the brain, Autism, increased
childhood cancer rates or death then I would vaccinate in a heartbeat. For now I
choose to build my children's immune systems with healthy food, exercise, fresh
air and love in the hope that if they do contract an illness the symptoms will
be lessened and the recovery will be fast.
I look forward to listening
to further interviews on "our ABC" that represent the views of both parties,
perhaps you would like to read more at the Generation Rescue or Australian
Vaccination Network website.
Thank you for your time
ear
Toby
I just received an email from Meryl Dorey from the AVN regarding a
recent interview with Peter Lavelle. I have been a member of the AVN for over 8
years since my first child experienced adverse reactions to the Hep B and
Whooping Cough vaccine within the first few months of her life. I found the AV
to be a fantastic resource for someone like myself who was looking for answers
that were outside of what the medical community were able to offer
me.
It is a concern to me when I hear of a very biased interview taking
place which talks of the so called benefits of vaccinations. Unfortunately the
general population tends to follow the advice given out by the medical community
like sheep. That is until a serious complication affects them. Even then most
people do not make the connection and wake up. When my child developed serious
health issues I decided to do my own research along with the help of the AVN. I
discovered that there is a whole can of worms surrounding the vaccination issue.
As a responsible reporting agency surely you would want your listeners to
experience both sides of the argument? On a personal note and from the research
that I undertook on behalf of my child I can tell you categorically that I would
not touch vaccinations with a 9 foot barge pole.
I would appreciate your
thoughts on this matter.
Kind regards
I am writing to comment on
the coverage of the recent measles outbreak. It seems very one-sided and so I
would like to urge you to cover all angles of the story - not just the health
professionals.
It is interesting. Once you start talking about
vaccinations, people start telling you their stories but it's just not a subject
one opens a conversation with... as it is often a highly emotive issue. One
mother from my pre-natal class had a perfectly healthy baby that started having
seizures immediately following vaccination, another woman I met in a park told
me her son screamed for 4 days solid after the MMR vaccine but her doctor would
not record it as a vaccine reaction. A good friend had a beautiful baby prior to
vaccination and now has a child with MS that requires 24 hour care - her doctor
advised that she not vaccinate her other children. Another mum told me that
every time he had vaccinations her son got really bad colds and flus, but she
still considered it the best thing to do. And a nurse from a mental health
institution told me that she thought it was about 50/50 where she worked - 50%
damaged by the vaccine and 50% damaged by the disease. Another nurse in the
emergency ward told me that since she has seen children so damaged by measles
that she would never consider not vaccinating. When I asked her about vitamin A
levels in the children that were damaged she replied that wasn't tested for -
yet deficiency in vitamin A is accepted as a cause for complications in
measles.
There are many voices, I urge you to share a range of
them.
Kind Regards,
Hi Toby or John,
I'm quite
disappointed about your interview in regards to the Measles
outbreaks.
It's quite bias and doesn't give a real information about the
risk of the vaccines and why some parents choose not to vaccinate (the effect of
mercury poisoning and of viruses on the overall immune system of the
child).
Plus vaccines aren't so effective as it's said.
When I
ask people who had their children sick with for ex. whooping cough if their
child was vaccinated, in the majority of the cases they were, so vaccine do not
guarantee the children will not get sick.
I would suggest you contact
the AVN and interview Meryl Dorey for a broader approach to Measles and
vaccine.
Kind regards
DIear Toby
I have long taken
an interest in the whole area of vaccination and feel that when interviewing a
public figure that the picture be painted fairly. I am appalled to think that
vaccination should EVER be made mandatory considering the content of it and that
schools and teaching organisations to name but 2, endeavour to make those
entering their hallowed halls feel worthless without having them. AVN has done
an enormous amount of work to educate the public, long may it continue!
Yours
sincerely,
Hello Toby
Would you please consider re-visiting this
subject with a person less one sided??? It is unfortunate for the population of
Australia to be so misled by someone so obviously bias. We deserve better than
that.. actually some of us demand better than that.
I have 4 children,
the oldest being nine. None are vaccinated. None have ever needed
antibiotics. Actually, my 6 year old has never been to the doctor - never
needed to. I don't see my children as being the germ carrying, disease ridden
children that he intimates. Neither am I un-educated. I am an intelligent
mother who has serious concerns regarding the administration of known poisons
and toxins directly into my child's bloodstream - and mine!
If you wish
to access further information regarding this highly contensious issue, I would
suggest you do some good old fashioned detective work - visit the link shown
below to go to the AVN website. They are not anti-vaccination as suggested in
the interview. They believe in offering ALL the information and letting parents
make their own decision - without "putting the fear of God in
them"!!
Another site you could view is called Generation Rescue and
their address is: http://www.generationrescue.org/
I hope that you
consider my requests as I am aware of quite a number of parents who would like
to hear the real story - not the one paid for by drug companies.
Thanks
very much for your time.
kind regards
Hi there Toby,
I am
fascinated to know why perhaps this evenings show showed such bias toward
pharmaceutical dogma rather than true and relevant scientific research. I
thought the ABC is supposed to be enamoured with the responsibility of spreading
messages for the greater good of the people, not for the betterment of a
political point of view... Especially when that point of view lacks substance
and sound reason. Would you consider running another similar program with a less
biased stance?
Your sincerely
Hello,
I have read the
article
at
http://www.abc.net.au/health/thepulse/stories/2008/07/17/2306469.htm
and
am concerned at the remarkably ill-informed bias the article exhibits. I have
been told John Nutting and Peter Lavelle have been publicly discussing the
matter of vaccination levels in Australia and linking that to cases of measles
when in fact such a link does not exist.
The Australian Vaccination
Network is a source of good information on the relative merits and dangers of
vaccination and I would encourage Peter and John to do some research there
(http://www.avn.org.au) and think it would a very good idea to invite Meryl
Dorey of the AVN to explain the facts to the Australian public rather than
presenting what sounds like a case of scare-mongering.
Thank you for
your attention, and I would appreciate a reply e-mail confirming this message
has been passed on to John and Peter. (The last time I wrote a similar e-mail
to the ABC I received no acknowledgment at all).
Yours
sincerely,
Dear Toby
I understand that you will be hosting a
story on Measles and vaccination.
I am a professional woman with three
young children. I am fully vaccinated.
When I had my first child I was
handed information by a friend who suggested that I look into the matter of
vaccination before proceeding to vaccinate him.
I spent more than 300
hours investigating the matter from a scientific and consumer point of
view.
At that time I was fearful of the decision not to vaccinate.
Accordingly I did not finally make up my mind until every question I had could
be satisfactorily answered. My conclusion, without any doubt left in my mind was
that -
vaccinations were unnecessary and ineffective
Vaccinations
were dangerous
That was 6 years ago and I continue to study the matter to
this day. In the six years since I have not read anything that challeges my
conclusions - in fact as more and more evidence is gathered the conclusions are
continually affirmed.
When you look at measles as an example Measles is
a mild, self limiting viral diseas of childhood. Symptoms are red spots on the
skin and mouth, fever and fatigue. It Commonly resolves in a week. Most Baby
Boomers remember getting measles. Not a big deal, And they got lifetime immunity
to the bargain - Natural immunity. Beers and Berkow,MD The Merck Manual -
Centenial Edition 1999.
Looking at the statictics the disease was almost
eradicated by istelf before mass vaccinations became popular in the 1960's. We
have our town planners and heath departments to thank for the good work they did
on planning and regulating better living environments.
The sales
technique that sold measles vaccine was encephalitis - brain fever.
At
the time of licensing the vaccine the figure 1 in 1000 was repeatedly used by
those pushing the vaccine. Without the the vaccine 1 in 1000 babies will get
encephalitis they said. No source was ever cited. Mendelson MD (Mendelson R MD
How to raise a Healthy Child in spite of your Doctor) disagrees with this
figure, and so does the international biostatistician Michael Anderson. If there
were 44 deaths from measles in the entire 5 year period in the USA from 1965 -
1970, that would be an incidence far less than 1 in 100,000. As with other
infectious diseases the victims were usually from overcrowded unhygenic
environments who would be likely to die from any number of other pathologies
which thrive in such locales.
Measles was and still is part of the MMR
vaccine package developed in the early 1970's. It would not be so bad if the
vaccine were simply unnecessary. But an entire array of side effects can result
from MMR vaccines
Loss of muscle control
mental
retardation
paralysis
MS
Guillain-Barre Syndrome
Blood
clotting
Menengitis
reye's Syndrome
Seizures
Anaphylactic
shock
Diabetes
Encephalitis (Mendelson R MD How to raise a Healthy Child

Hey wait a second! Is not the reason we need to
vaccinate is to protect against encephalitis? Now here it is listed as a side
effect of the vaccine. Measles itself does not cause all these illnesses!! Even
pediatricians know that the vaccine contains a slow virus that can hide in the
tissues for years and then manifest itself in later life. This is why so many
Doctors in Los Angeles refused to use the MMR vaccine on their own children
(Mendelsohn cf).
A 1989 CDC report stated that the measles vaccine
'produces immune suppression which contributes to an increased susceptibility to
other infections' Clinical Immunology and Pathology May 1996.
Not only
does the measles vaccine not prevent measles it also increases the chances of
getting other infections.
Looks like the vaccine is worse than the
disease. And now we have mandated such a vaccine for the general population
based on shaky undocumented claims of possible encephalitis?
This is a
marketing mystery.
With measles the absence of antibobies after
vaccination has been known for decades "antibody production is therefore not
necessary either for recovery from or for the development of immunity to
measles" Nobel Laureate, Sir MacFarlane Burnet, 1971.
If you trace the
vaccines effectiveness fin the USA for preventing ,measles by 1978 half of the
measles cases were found in vaccinated children. And the WHO stated that those
vaccinated have a 15 times greater chance of catching measles than those that
are not vaccinated. (Mendelsohn. cf)
Between 1983 and 1989 the incidence
of measles increased 10 fold. In the next year the incidence increased another
50%. 1990 saw 27,000 cases and 100 deaths reported in the US. Garrett
l, The
coming Plague Penguin 1994.
Further more the CDC itself reports ,measles
outbreaks in populations with 100% vaccination rates. Their "explanation" : the
paradox is that measles .... becomes a diseas of immunized persons" (MMWR Oct
1984).
What about the value of child hood measles as an immune building
experience? Scientist Viera Scheibner states
" It is well known that
measles is an important development milestone in the maturing process of
children. Why would anybody want to stop or delay the maturation process of
children and their immune systems?"
The real horror about the measles
vaccine however did not explode into public awareness til the house of
representatives hearings on Autism conveved by Dan Burton on April 2000.
Research done in England and Ireland began to show the measles vaccine as one of
the two most likely causes of the current autism epidemic.
Confirmed in
the USA court decision this year
" The Court found that Bailey would not
have suffered this delay but for the administration of the MMR vaccine ....in a
proximate sequence of cause and effect leading inexorably from the vaccination
to the PDD (Autism)" Banks v Secretary of the Department of Health and Human
Services
Toby, I urge you on behalf of our children and future
generations to consider this matter fully. Vaccinations are very big business
and there are interests that will stop at nothing to protect it. The truth needs
to be revealed for the sake of our children.
I attach for you an extract
from the book "The Sanctity of Human Blood" from which some of the above was
taken. I would be happy to discuss this matter with you.

Hello
I have just read the article John Nutting wrote
about the above vaccination. I would love to know just how many children he has
and the side effects they had after being vaccinated?? There doesn't seem to be
much substantiated info in his article which surprises me from
theABC.
I'm also surprised John hasn't seen the interview by the
scientist that used to create and work in the laboratories making vaccines who
is now totally against them.
Vaccines are huge business (one of the
largest in the world) and these companies help run countries monetarily.
Luckily they don't run small families and wonderful communities that have been
through vaccine side effects first hand and learnt by their mistakes.
I
hope you have a wonderful day.
Kindest Regards
Dear John
I
found your interview with Mr Lavelle very biased and lacking convincing
information about measles and it's vaccination. There are always 2 sides to
every story so how about sharing some from parents who choose against this
vaccination and better still from parents whose children have suffered adverse
reactions from measles vaccination. There is credible information from many
sources today against this vaccination and it is only fair to parents that they
make an informed choice on this topic.
Regards,
To whom it may
concern,
I have an autoimmune disorder which I believe was triggered by the
polio vaccine of 1957.
My second daughter developed encephalitis within 48hrs
of a D.P.T. vaccination, was very ill for a long time, I never had her
vaccinated again.
Although my son had only pre school vaccination he had
fever and allergy reactions.
I have a grandson who developed Autism and will
need care for the rest of his life, he had been developing normally prior to the
reaction to vaccinations.
His siblings are doing very well without
vaccinations and will not be vaccinated.
All my children had measles and
mumps which I believe boosted thier immune sytems naturaly. They had good home
nursing, plenty of water and nutritious soups and yogurts while recuperating and
therre were no complications.
I feel people should be encouraged to
investigate before they vaccinate and make informed choices, find out what is in
the vaccination and what the potential side effects might be.
Dear Mr
Nutting,
Since becoming pregnant with our first child my family has spent
alot of time investigation current vaccinations processes and other
alternatives, becoming educated before making our decision. We were not
comfortable in just doing what we were told, for us accepting the responsibility
and making our own educated decision was part of the growth needed in becoming a
parent. Our decision not to vaccinate our child did not come down to our lack of
understanding (as portrayed by Peter Lavelle comments indicating that parents
had trouble understanding how injecting a small amount of a virus or a bacteria
into a child's body could help make them healthier), our decision came after
years of research and education.
We have learnt that discussions about
vaccinations are highly emotional, as every parent wants to be believe that they
have done the 'right thing', so unfortunately there is often little discussions
about choice and alternatives. In trying to make an informed decision we wanted
access to balanced information on this topic. Unfortunately this is very hard to
come by as often the media only shows one side to this story, the side promoted
by the government.
Our society is very quick to put down parents for their
'uncontrolable' kids, if our society expects parents to be responsible for their
own children then we need to allow parents to be fully responsible and that
includes giving them all the information that is available so they can take
ownership of their decisions as a parent. I thought our country stood for
supporting its people, not controlling and disempowering them.

Hello Mr Nutting
I am writing to you in regard to airing
non-biased information on vaccination and the side effects. I have been doing my
own research on this for 10 years now and there is so much false info out there
on side effects and the use of fear to make people get themselves or their
children vaccinated.
The ABC is my ABC too, and the general public need
to hear correct information and not hyped up crap from the medical profession,
who are obviously paid people who want their multi-billion dollar industry
pushed, in other words, drug pushers!
Please, please air more
information by groups like Australian Vaccination Network, who have the public's
interest at heart.
Regards
Good evening Toby
It was great
to hear that you had both sides of the discussion but what a shame that Peter
was so biased. He certainly is into taking action by promoting fear. What a
shame as I would take him more seriously if he would present his side with more
facts and less fear.
The AVN's invaluable information helped my sister
to make decisions regarding her daughter's health after having her vaccinations.
Her doctor had little or more to the point no information regarding the possible
side-effects and it was only the AVN who informed us that my niece's deafness
could be a possible side-effect. Thank heavens it was temporary (over 3 months)
but her immune systems has never been good after that.
Compulsory
vaccination is not the answer but letting the general public know the full
details pro and against with no bias is a start.
Regards
