ETS is another tax. It is equal to putting up the GST to 12.5% which would be unacceptable and produce an outcry.

First and foremost, there is little likelihood of a tax on carbon dioxide will get up in parliament, all it will take is one "independent" to back away, and the coalition have made it clear they will revoke it if it does.
